Deacon Bruce Peters

My name is Deacon Bruce Peters.  I was ordained in 1996 and have been at St. Dismas since 2006.  Here at St. Dismas, along with PPC, I am involved with Baptismal Prep, Adult Choir, RCIA, Community Outreach, and I direct traffic on Monday evenings for our Religious Ed program.  I am on staff at St. Dismas to take care of the maintenance of our facilities.

Outside of St. Dismas I am the Chaplain for the Northern Illinois Fire and Police Departments, and I am the only Deacon on the recruit and technical school side at the Naval Station Great Lakes.  I also participate in the annual Polar Plunge raising funds for Special Olympics.

Desiree Plonowski

I was welcomed into the Catholic faith during the Easter Vigil in 2001. My faith journey, since that moment, has been continuous and quite extraordinary.  I, along with my husband Tom, have been members of St. Dismas since 2003. At St. Dismas, I am a member of the Mending Soil Garden Club and Community Outreach Ministry.  I also serve as a Eucharistic Minister and Minister of Care.  It has been a blessing to participate in these groups and I have had the opportunity of meeting a lot of wonderful people. I pray that we as a community of faith, by being an example of love and truth, can evangelize our society and not let society evangelize the faith

Tom Plonowski

I was born and grew up in Poland.  The Catholic faith was always a big part of my family life.  I came to the United States in 1992.  I met my wife Desiree and we were married in 2000. We joined  St. Dismas in 2003.  I serve as Eucharistic Minister and I am member of the Mending Soil Garden Club and Community Outreach Ministry.  Having a Catholic upbringing gave direction to my life, marriage to a wonderful woman, made my life better and my faith stronger.
